New LED line® strip with SMD 2216. The colour temperature range does not fall beyond the 3 MacAdam steps

New LED line® strip with SMD 2216. The colour temperature range does not fall beyond the 3 MacAdam steps, hence the difference in colour temperature is indistinguishable to the average human eye.

LED line® is introducing 4 models of LED strip based on SMD 2216 – their distinctive features are enhanced lighting parameters. The chips are used for our thinnest 5mm LED strip (white and black laminate) and also for the 8mm LED strip (IP20 and IP65) designed for standard use.

The 2216 LEDs have a high Colour Rendering Value of CRI>90 thanks to which the colours of the surroundings will always look truly natural! The 2216 LEDs maintain a very precise colour temperature of 4000K – the difference in colour temperature is indistinguishable to the average human eye since the difference in colour does not fall beyond 3 steps of the MacAdam ellipse!

The difference in colours between each individual chip (LED) is defined using the MacAdam ellipse.   A MacAdam ellipse is a region on a chromaticity diagram which contains all colours which are indistinguishable, to the average human eye, from the colour at the centre of the ellipse. The contour of the ellipse therefore represents the just noticeable differences of chromaticity. Standard Deviation Colour Matching in LED lighting uses deviations relative to MacAdam ellipses to describe colour precision of a light source.
